Michigan Lawyer Receives Citation Over Black Lives Matter Sign Outside His Home

A lawyer from Michigan has received a citation over a Black Lives Matter sign outside his home, with police saying it violates a city ordinance.

Todd Russell Perkins, a lawyer from Grosse Pointe Shores near Detroit, nailed the sign to a tree outside his house in November.

Afterward, he received a police report warning ordering him to remove the sign as it violated a rule that there can be no political signs larger than seven square feet.

Police said they had received an anonymous complaint about the sign. Perkins said he wanted to know which neighbor had made the complaint and has argued he should have freedom of speech.

Speaking to Fox News, he said: “To announce it, to be able to say it, to be able to scream it from atop of a mountain is my right as an American.

“We can all agree that that’s greater than seven

Approachability, Honesty and Trust: Why They Matter in Choosing a Personal Injury Lawyer

Bruce Tingey, Don Tingey, and Dean Tingey.

At Tingey Injury Law firm, we have a 50-year legacy of standing up to Big Insurance and helping our clients recover their losses after injury accidents. We know that these accidents are traumatic and that navigating the legal system while trying to heal from injuries can be overwhelming. We also know that  it’s not fair that people should have to suffer due to the negligence of others. That’s why we advocate for our clients, guarding against the underhanded tactics and low-ball settlement offers of opposing insurance companies and fighting for the full compensation that our clients deserve.

Though we pride ourselves in our five decades of experience in personal injury law, we owe our success to something more – our values of approachability, honesty and trust. These qualities can’t be easily seen or measured, but they are the foundation of everything we do.

Trump links Biden to Philadelphia riots, Black Lives Matter

President Trump on Wednesday blamed the looting and street violence in Philadelphia on Joseph R. Biden’s support for the Black Lives Matter movement, while the Democrat said there is “no excuse” for the rioting in a bid to minimize blowback on his front-running campaign in the final week of the race.

“This is a group that he supports,” Mr. Trump said of demonstrators who injured Philadelphia police officers and pillaged big-box stores uncontested. “He doesn’t want to condemn them. You can’t have chaos like that.”

At a campaign stop in Bullhead City, Arizona, the president told more than 4,000 supporters that Mr. Biden and running mate Sen. Kamala D. Harris “stand with the rioters and the vandals.”

“I stand with the heroes of law enforcement,” Mr. Trump said.

The former vice president, whose nominating convention elevated the status of the Black Lives Matter movement, tried to distance himself from the

Black Lives Matter protesters sue LA district attorney, husband over gun incident outside their home

Organizers for the Los Angeles chapter of Black Lives Matter filed a lawsuit on Monday against county District Attorney Jackie Lacey and her husband over his alleged pointing of a firearm at demonstrators outside the couple’s home earlier this year.

The lawsuit, filed by Civil rights attorney Carl Douglas, accuses the Laceys of assault, negligence, and inflicting emotional distress in connection with the March 2 incident.

On that day, BLM organizer Melina Abdullah, led a group of protesters outside the Laceys’ Granada Hills home before dawn. The demonstration was meant to put pressure on Lacey to follow through on a promise she made to meet with organizers who have criticized her for not prosecuting police officers involved in fatal shootings.

A video that was widely circulated online, shows David Lacey, a retired investigative auditor for
