Kelly Clarkson Awarded Primary Physical Custody of Kids Amid Divorce – E! Online

Nearly six months after Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock, legal decisions are being made regarding their roles as parents.

On Nov. 19, the Grammy-winning singer was awarded primary physical custody in Los Angeles of her and Blackstock’s two children together, daughter River Rose, 6, and son Remington Alexander, 4. According to court documents filed on Nov. 30 and obtained by E! Civil rights lawyer Jeffrey Rothman’s lawsuit against the city of New York and two police officers wasn’t a total loss.

In a decision filed Nov. 30, Chief U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon of the Southern District of New York awarded Rothman $1 in attorney fees, matching the $1 award that he had received from a jury in a lawsuit stemming from rude treatment and a snatched pen. He received an additional $862 in costs.

The New York Post and the New York Daily News have coverage.

“Once upon a time,” McMahon wrote, “we urged people not to make too much of real but petty grievances by saying, ‘Don’t make a federal case out of that.’ This lawsuit was a violation of that principle writ

Kelly Clarkson Awarded Primary Custody of Her Two Children

Kelly Clarkson has been granted primary custody of her two children, 6-year-old River Rose and 4-year-old Remington Alexander, amid her divorce from her husband, Brandon Blackstock.

A Los Angeles County judge ruled in favor of the singer in late October, according to People.

Although Clarkson and Blackstock will continue to share physical and legal custody of their kids, Clarkson now has primary physical custody of the two youngsters. However, Blackstock will video chat with River and Remington “at a mutually agreed upon time” daily, per the judge’s ruling.

“The Court finds that under the circumstances present in this case, the interest in providing stability and continuity for the minor children weighs in favor of Petitioner [Clarkson] having primary custody,” explains the ruling, adding that co-parenting has proven difficult for Clarkson and Blackstock because “the level of conflict between the parents has increased” and there are “issues of trust between

Firm Linked To Tajik President’s Son-In-Law Awarded $13 Million Government Contract

DUSHANBE — A newly established publishing house in the Tajik capital has been awarded a lucrative government contract to print more than 1 million copies of a history book after a dubiously conducted tender by the public procurement agency.

The firm, Modern Publishing, won the contract despite asking for more than 25 times as much money than the bid of runner-up Er-Graf, a reputable firm known in Dushanbe for high-quality work and competitive prices.

Er-Graf had offered to publish the book for about $435,000 — just a fraction of the nearly $13 million bid by Modern Publishing.

The public procurement agency’s decision to award the contract to Modern Publishing didn’t appear to make sense until an investigation by RFE/RL’s Tajik Service found that the company is linked to Shamsullo Sohibov, the wealthy son-in-law of President Emomali Rahmon.

Like many other relatives of the president, Sohibov is known for having used
